What the February 2023 Earthquakes Brought to the Agenda Again; Risks, Precautions and Solution Proposals

The symposium, the first of which was held on the first anniversary of the February 6 earthquakes and the second one on the second anniversary, aims to evaluate earthquakes and their effects from every aspect from a civil engineering perspective, and to present the lessons learned, future predictions and suggestions.
Within the scope of the two-day Symposium, the examination of the structure-ground relationship – geotechnical problems and solution proposals will be discussed, the adequacy of earthquake regulations will be examined, and the legal problems arising from the judicial processes carried out after the earthquakes will be evaluated.
In addition, the place of local governments in disaster management, post-earthquake reconstruction and housing production, the evaluation of earthquakes in terms of building materials, the effects of earthquakes on urban infrastructure systems – the behavior of building-type structures will be evaluated with presentations.
